Haidyn K Drives In 5 To Lead Monroe Central Middle School Past Elwood By GameChanger Media Haidyn K drove in five runs on two hits to lead Monroe Central Middle School past Elwood 11-5 on Thursday. Haidyn hit an inside the park home run in the third inning, scoring three runs, and doubled in the fifth inning, scoring two. Monroe Central Middle School won thanks in part to seven runs in the third inning. Lucy H drew a walk, scoring one run, Haidyn hit an inside the park home run, scoring three runs, Brynlee D singled, scoring one run, and an error scored two runs. Elwood got on the board in the first inning after a wild pitch scored one run. A ground out by Gracie M gave Monroe Central Middle School the lead, 2-1, in the bottom of the first. Elwood scored on a wild pitch, which helped Elwood tie the game at two in the top of the second. Lucy earned the win for Monroe Central Middle School. The starter surrendered two hits and five runs (three earned) over six innings, striking out nine and walking nine. Miley took the loss for Elwood. The pitcher went one and one-third innings, allowing seven runs (three earned) on four hits, striking out one and walking five. Keke led things off in the circle for Elwood. The hurler surrendered one hit and two runs (zero earned) over one and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking none. Monroe Central Middle School tallied 10 hits in the game. Brynlee, Haidyn, and Izzy M each collected two hits for Monroe Central Middle School. Monroe Central Middle School had patience at the plate, collecting five walks for the game. Lucy and Mati M led the team with two walks each. Lucy stole two bases. Monroe Central Middle School ran wild on the base paths, accumulating seven stolen bases for the game. Lily and Ava each collected one hit for Elwood. Ellie and Lily were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in one run for Elwood. Quincy paced Elwood with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, accumulating nine walks for the game. Elwood turned one double play in the game.
