Monroe Central Varsity Bears Fall After Strong Showing By Delta Varsity Eagles By GameChanger Media Monroe Central Varsity Bears had trouble keeping up with Delta Varsity Eagles in a 15-3 loss on Wednesday. Delta Varsity Eagles got on the board in the top of the second inning after Haley Loser singled to center field, and Monroe Central Varsity Bears committed an error, each scoring one run. Delta Varsity Eagles scored five runs on one hit in the top of the third inning. Ava West drew a walk, scoring one run, an error scored three runs, and an error scored one run. Delta Varsity Eagles scored six runs on one hit in the top of the fifth inning. An error scored one run, an error scored one run, Katelyn Burns doubled, scoring two runs, an error scored one run, and Kyra Brockman induced Liz Bramlett to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored. Loser earned the win for Delta Varsity Eagles. The right-handed pitcher allowed two hits and two runs (zero earned) over one inning, striking out none and walking none. Brockman took the loss for Monroe Central Varsity Bears. The righty went two-thirds of an inning, allowing three runs (one earned) on one hit, striking out none and walking one. Kloee Brannan stepped in the circle first for Monroe Central Varsity Bears. The right-handed pitcher allowed five hits and 12 runs (two earned) over four and one-third innings, striking out four and walking three. Burns started in the circle for Delta Varsity Eagles. The pitcher allowed one hit and one run (zero earned) over four innings, striking out two and walking none. Brockman led the team with two runs batted in. Jayme Brannan, Haidyn Dumpert, and Brannan each collected one hit for Monroe Central Varsity Bears. Bramlett, the number nine hitter for Delta Varsity Eagles, led the way with three runs batted in. Jordyn Hughes went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Delta Varsity Eagles in hits. Delta Varsity Eagles turned one double play in the game.
