Game 1 GameChanger Recap: Big Second Inning Leads Monroe Central Varsity Bears Past Adams Central By GameChanger Media Monroe Central Varsity Bears scored seven runs in the second inning, which helped them defeat Adams Central 11-5 on Saturday. Logan Walker singled, scoring two runs, Kyler Bogue drew a walk, scoring one run, Myles Oliphant doubled, scoring three runs, and Carter Duncan singled, scoring one run. Adams Central were the first to get on the board in the first when Ethan Funk grounded out, scoring one run. Monroe Central Varsity Bears captured the lead, 3-1, in the bottom of the first after Lane Wilson singled down the left field line, Levi Pence doubled down the left field line, and Isaac Middleton doubled down the left field line, each scoring one run. Adams Central collected 18 hits, while Monroe Central Varsity Bears had 11. Adams Central got on the board in the top of the first inning after Monroe Central Varsity Bears committed an error, Jacob Miller grounded into a fielder's choice, and Jami Roach singled down the right field line, each scoring one run. Adams Central added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after Chandler Voglewede doubled to center field, Ethan Funk doubled down the left field line, and Reece Hammond singled down the left field line, each scoring one run. Monroe Central Varsity Bears flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the third, scoring seven runs on four hits to take the lead, 8-6. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Logan Walker that drove in two.
