Junior High Softball defeats Daleville

Recap: The lady bear’s junior high softball team came out on top with a win over the Daleville Broncos. Lucy Houston was the pitcher for the Bears and pitched a great game. Every player for Monroe Central hit the ball which ended up in a score of 14 to 2. The lady bears will be back in action against Connersville on Wednesday. GameChanger Update: Gracie M With 3 Hits As Monroe Central Middle School Beat Daleville By GameChanger Media Gracie M collected three hits in four at bats, as Monroe Central Middle School defeated Daleville 14-2 on Thursday. Gracie singled in the first inning, singled in the fourth inning, and singled in the third inning. Monroe Central Middle School got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Ivy P scored after tagging up, Gracie singled, scoring one run, Izzy M singled, scoring one run, and Brynlee D tripled, scoring two runs. Monroe Central Middle School added one run in the third after Ivy singled down the left field line. Lucy H earned the win for Monroe Central Middle School. The hurler surrendered six hits and two runs over five innings, striking out five and walking eight. W took the loss for Daleville. The pitcher went five innings, giving up 14 runs (five earned) on 18 hits, striking out eight and walking none. Monroe Central Middle School amassed 18 hits in the game. Brynlee led Monroe Central Middle School with five runs batted in from the number eight spot in the lineup. The right-handed hitter went 3-for-4 on the day. Ivy, Gracie, Brynlee, and Izzy each collected three hits for Monroe Central Middle School. Lucy and Haidyn K each collected multiple hits for Monroe Central Middle School. Monroe Central Middle School turned one double play in the game. Monroe Central Middle School were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Gracie made the most plays with five. F and L each drove in one run for Daleville. B led Daleville with three hits in three at bats. Daleville had a strong eye at the plate, piling up eight walks for the game.
