7th Grade: The Monroe Central 7th grade boys basketball team picked up a hard fought victory on the road at county rival Union City, 42-27. A good second half start helped the Bears earn their seventh win of the season. The Bears were led in scoring by Luke Morgan with 32 and Weston Grove with 6. The Bears return to action Wednesday in Hall Gym versus Lapel. 8th Grade: The 8th grade boys lost last night to county rival Union City 39 to 25. The Bears trailed by 7 at the end of the 3rd quarter but the Indians pulled away in the final 3 minutes to secure the win. The boys played hard and made several runs but just couldn’t get any closer. Conner Baker led the Bears with 10 points followed by Caden Dance with 9.
