Indiana Top-Ranked Muncie Burris visited the Bear Den tonight. Both teams came out with a positive frame of mind and intended to do their absolute best and not stop fighting. The Varsity team showed up tonight very determined and excited to play. Their excitement started before warmups even began. They continued that right into the first set and came out very strong. Set one was exciting to watch and ended with a score of 15-25 in favor of Muncie Burris. The Owls went on to serve very strong in set 2 and took that set 5-25. Our Golden Bears regrouped and focused on serve receive in set 3 and definitely showed improvement. Set 3 ended at 12-25. All players worked very hard but standing out tonight was Junior Addi Grove with 3 kills, and 2 digs, Junior Shyann Bennett with 2 kills and 2 digs, Junior Sophia Bolton with 1 kill, 4 assists, and 1 dig, and Senior Kaylee Swift earning her first varsity kill in the front row. It was impressive to see the Lady Golden Bears not back down and keep fighting tonight. This team is a team on the rise for sure. MC Volleyball will continue this coming Monday (8/26) on the road as they travel to face off with the Panthers of Elwood. JV will begin at 6:00p.m.
