Tonight the Lady Golden Bears Varsity had their first match of the season at home against the Indians of Union City. The Varsity match tonight was quite exciting to watch. The Golden Bears got off to a slow start and let the Indians take Set One 19-25. However, they did a nice job of regrouping and taking the next three sets (25-21, 25-22, 25-18) to establish their first win of the season. The Lady Golden Bears were led by Junior Shyan Bennett with 13 kills, 6 aces, and 2 blocks along with Junior Addi Grove having 14 kills, 6 aces, and 2 blocks. Additionally, Junior setter Sophia Bolton had 32 assists. The Golden Bears will be back in action on Thursday (8/22) against top state ranked Muncie Burris at home.
