7th Grade: The MC 7th Golden Bears defeated northeastern 34-20 in a very physical matchup. The game started out very slow with neither team scoring for the first 4 minutes. The bears led the entire game and were led in scoring by Miles Gross with 21 and Carter Lucies added 9. The bears are back in action Monday against Randolph Southern. 8th Grade: The Monroe Central 8th Grade Boys Basketball defeated Northeastern Tuesday night by a score of 44-35. It was a highly physical and intense matchup, as the Bears battled with the Knights from tip off till the final horn. Great team effort, ball movement, and defense helped guide the Bears to victory, as the Bears pulled away from the Knights in the 4th Quarter. The Bears were led in scoring by Luke Morgan with 26 and Weston Grove with 8. The Bears return to action next Monday as the host county and conference foe Randolph Southern.
