7th Grade: MC 7th lost in the opening round of the MEC tournament 44-41. Daleville was hot from three in the 4th and every time it the bears would take a lead, it seemed like Daleville would take it right back. The Bears were down 2 with 6 seconds left in the 4th, Dallas Frantz hit a mid range jumper to force the game to overtime. The bears were led in scoring by Dallas Frantz with 13, Alex Middleton and Miles Gross each added 12, and Collin Baker and Logan Keith each had 2. We are super proud of the boys for how they continued to keep fighting to win the game in the 4th quarter and overtime. 8th Grade: The Monroe Central 8th Grade Boys Basketball team moved past Daleville 51-28 in the opening round of the MEC tournament. The Bears started off hot against the Broncos, jumping out to a 15-2 lead, and never looked back. Great teamwork and hustle helped guide the Bears throughout the contest with everyone chipping in for the victory. The Bears were led in scoring by Luke Morgan with 26 and Weston Grove with 8. The Bears return to the hardwood on Thursday, as the travel to play Blue River in the quarterfinals of the MEC tournament.
