Both Junior High Girls Basketball teams defeat Cowan

The 6th and 7th grade girls basketball team picked up another conference victory on the road Monday evening, defeating the Cowan Blackhawks 34-15 and improving their record to 4-1. Leading the way for the Lady Bears was Lucy Huston with 8 points, 5 rebounds and 6 steals. Landry Taylor led the scoring charge with 10 points to go with 2 assists and 2 steals. Claire Cheesman led the team with 9 rebounds to go with 4 steals. Izzy McGrath pulled down 6 rebounds to go with 3 steals, 2 assists and 2 points. Mila Morris had 6 points to go with 4 rebounds and 2 assists. Gracie McCreery had 4 rebounds and 2 points. Lilly Moery had 2 points and 2 steals and Bristol Goad had 2 points and a steal. The girls travel to Delta on Wednesday for a showdown with the Eagles. Go Bears! The 8th grade Lady Bears defeated the Cowan Blackhawks on Monday by a score of 51-8. The Bears got of to a quick start and never looked back, outscoring their opponent 20-4 in the first quarter, led by Aberee Ervin with 12 and Oaklei Davis with 8 points in the period. The team did a great of delivering the ball to the open girl, combining for 16 team assists, with Brynlee Patterson dishing out 8 dimes to go with 6 points, 6 rebounds and 5 steals. Smooth shooting Aberee Ervin had a game high 18 points to go with 4 assists and 4 steals. Charlee Morris had 7 points to go with 5 rebounds and Haidyn Dumpert pulled down 5 boards as well. Brylie Tinsman had 4 points and 2 rebounds and Abby Thomas finished with 2 points and 2 rebounds. Lillian Konkle and Kayleigh Epperhart both played well and contributed to the teams victory. The Bears travel to Delta on Wednesday, where they will face the Eagles in a non-conference matchup. Go Bears!
