A double by Jordan N put Selma Middle School on the board in the top of the first. Haidyn Knott doubled to center field following a 6-pitch at-bat, which helped Monroe Central JH tie the game at two in the bottom of the first. Selma Middle School took the lead in the top of the second. Sydney V grounded out, scoring two runs, to give Selma Middle School the lead, 4-2. Selma Middle School added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Addie R doubled down the left field line, Brixton N grounded out, and V singled up the middle, each scoring one run. Halle P earned the win for Selma Middle School. The pitcher allowed six hits and two runs over six innings, striking out four and walking four. Knott pitched three and two-thirds innings in relief for Monroe Central JH. The reliever gave up six hits and six runs (five earned) while, striking out two and walking three. Delainee Whitehead took the loss for Monroe Central JH. The hurler went two and one-third innings, allowing six runs (five earned) on three hits, striking out three and walking seven. Knott provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Monroe Central JH with two runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 2-for-3 on the day. Selma Middle School amassed nine hits in the game.
