Bats Show Up In Monroe Central JH Win Against Wes-Del Middle School By GameChanger Media There were runs aplenty on Thursday at Wes-Del Middle/High, as Monroe Central JH outsted Wes-Del Middle School 21-9. Monroe Central JH collected 20 hits, while Wes-Del Middle School had six. Bristol Goad collected three hits in four at bats in the win. Goad hit an inside the park home run in the third inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the second inning. Monroe Central JH got on the board in the top of the first inning after Goad singled, scoring one run, Delainee Whitehead singled, scoring one run, Haidyn Knott tripled, scoring one run, Izzy McGrath singled, scoring one run, and Brynlee Dumpert doubled, scoring two runs. Monroe Central JH scored six runs on four hits in the top of the second inning. Knott grounded out, scoring one run, McGrath singled, scoring one run, Ellie Lanter drew a walk, scoring one run, Dumpert drew a walk, scoring one run, and Alexa Tinsman grounded out, scoring one run. Monroe Central JH added three more runs in the top of the third inning on three hits. Goad hit a solo inside the park home run, McGrath drew a walk, scoring one run, and a wild pitch scored one run. Wes-Del Middle School scored six runs on one hit in the bottom of the third inning. Karleigh was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Maci was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Kamea drew a walk, scoring one run, Ava drew a walk, scoring one run, Charolette was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, and Lydia singled, scoring one run. Tinsman pitched three innings in relief for Monroe Central JH. The righty surrendered four hits and three runs while, striking out two and walking three. Whitehead stepped in the circle first for Monroe Central JH. The pitcher surrendered two hits and zero runs over two innings, striking out five and walking two. Natalie opened the game for Wes-Del Middle School. The hurler allowed 20 hits and 21 runs (17 earned) over five innings, striking out five and walking six. Monroe Central JH accumulated 20 hits in the game. Whitehead went 4-for-5 at the plate to lead Monroe Central JH in hits. Knott, Whitehead, Goad, and Dumpert each drove in two runs for Monroe Central JH. Mati McConnell, Tinsman, and McGrath each collected multiple hits for Monroe Central JH. Lanter paced Monroe Central JH with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, accumulating six walks for the game. McConnell, Lanter, Goad, Tinsman, Dumpert, and McGrath each stole multiple bases for Monroe Central JH. Monroe Central JH stole 13 bases in the game. Monroe Central JH turned one double play in the game. Maci led Wes-Del Middle School with two runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup. The second baseman went 1-for-2 on the day. Natalie, Charolette, Lydia, Quinn, Karleigh, and Maci each collected one hit for Wes-Del Middle School. Ava led Wes-Del Middle School with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, piling up eight walks for the game. Maci stole two bases. Monroe Central JH play at home on Friday against Tri JH in their next game.
