Varsity Football falls to North Decatur

The Monroe Central football team opened up Mid-Eastern Conference play with a 41-6 road loss to North Decatur at Ed Kaelin Field. The Golden Bears (1-2) fell behind 29-0 by halftime. While Jerimiah Ullom was able to provide a 78-yard rushing touchdown on the first play from scrimmage to open the second half, the Mustangs (2-1) answered right back with a touchdown of their own on the ensuing drive and cruised from there for the win. Jerimiah Ullom finished with eight carries for 94 yards and a touchdown for the Golden Bears. The Monroe Central defense was led by 12 total tackles by Ryder Bowlin, while Elijah Goodspeed added a sack and Griffin Gannom had a forced fumble to force a turnover on downs. The Golden Bears travel to take on Tri next week.
