7th Grade: The 7th Grade Lady Bears traveled to Northeastern on Thursday evening for a jousting match against the Knights and returned as victors, beating the hosts 26-17 and improving their record to 7-0. The Bears smothering full court defense made the match uncomfortable for their opponent and kick started their offense. Alexa Tinsman led the defensive effort and the team followed suit, with Remmie Morrison, Scarlett Davis and Alayna Dickson working hard in the paint and Delainee Whitehead, Mabrey Cheesman and Emma Croyle putting pressure on the Northeastern guards. Alexa Tinsman finished with 14 points, Delainee Whitehead had 9, Mabrey Cheesman had 2 and Scarlett Davis finished with 1. Emma Croyle scored 2 points for the Bears in the 5th quarter. Peyton Myers, Kendall Johnson, Harper Whitehead, Jazmyn Ford, Amelia Brown, Nia Carpenter all played well and held the Knights to 4 5th quarter points. MC travels to Cowan on Monday, GO BEARS!!! 8th Grade: The 8th grade girls basketball team finished a perfect week by traveling to Northeastern and downed the Knights 50-14. Everyone contributed on both ends of the court in a solid defensive effort. Scoring for the game is as follows. Mila Morris 11, Claire Cheesman 9, Izzy McGrath and Gracie McCreery 8, Mati McConnell 5, Lillie Morery 3, Landry Taylor, Ada Wagner and Brynlee Dumpert 2. The win moves the team to 7-0 on the season while they look to finish the first half of the season strong traveling to Cowan on Monday and Delta on Wednesday.
