The Mooresville Girls Basketball team opens up their 51st season with a home game on Tuesday, November 4th against Southport. Mark Hurt is starting his 28th season as Head Coach of the Lady Pioneers and is creeping toward his 500th victory at Mooresville High School. Highlights for the upcoming season will be home games against Bishop Chatard (11/7), Cathedral (11/13), Danville (11/18), Bloomington South (1/15), and Plainfield (1/23). Defending IHSAA Sectional Champions on the 25-26 schedule include Cathedral (3A-Sectional 26), Danville (3A-Sectional 25), Bloomington South (4A-Sectional 13), and Northview (3A-Sectional 27). The Lady Pioneers will play the Lady Woodmen of Greenwood one last time as members of the Mid-State Conference before the Woodmen move to a new conference. Greenwood was a founding member of the Mid-State Conference back in 1942 and their departure leaves Plainfield and Mooresville as the senior members of the Mid-State.
