Mooresville High School Athletic Department Pendill Wealth Management Athletes of the Week September 29th – October 4th The Mooresville High School Athletic Department is pleased to announce the Pendill Wealth Management Athletes of the Week Award for the week of September 29th – October 4th. The award will be given to one female and one male student-athletes who displayed athletic excellence in all areas of competition during the previous week of athletic contests. Pendill Wealth Management is proud to recognize student athletes for their athletic achievements each week while supporting the Mooresville Athletic Department. The Mooresville Athletic Department is honored to partner with BJ Pendill to recognize the Mooresville High School student athlete of the week. Athlete of the Week – Competition Cheer – Brooklynn Bartlett, Freshman This week’s Athlete of the Week is freshman standout Brooklynn Bartlett, whose energy, positivity, and leadership have made a huge impact on the Competition Cheer team. Brooklynn arrives at every practice brimming with enthusiasm and determination, setting the tone for her teammates with her strong work ethic and contagious spirit. Despite being only a freshman, Brooklynn has already shown the maturity and drive of a seasoned leader. Her uplifting attitude and constant encouragement help create a supportive, high-energy environment where everyone performs their best. Brooklynn’s commitment to excellence and her ability to inspire those around her make her a true difference-maker for the Pioneers. The team is lucky to have such a talented and motivating young athlete leading the way. Athlete of the Week – Boys Cross Country – Magnus Thorstenson, Senior This week’s Athlete of the Week is senior captain Magnus Thorstenson, whose leadership and performance have been nothing short of exceptional. Magnus claimed 1st place at the Morgan County Championship, leading the Pioneers to the team title in impressive fashion. Remarkably, this victory came just three days after he earned All-Conference honors with a 10th-place finish at the Mid-State Conference Meet. Magnus continued his outstanding run at the NIKE Twilight Meet on the challenging Lavern Gibson course, where he posted a new personal record of 16:40—a testament to his relentless work ethic and drive for improvement. Beyond his achievements on the course, Magnus has been the heart and standard-bearer of Mooresville Cross Country. As a captain, he has built a team culture rooted in accountability, positivity, and hard work. His encouragement of teammates, consistency in training, and ability to lead by example have laid a strong foundation for the program’s future. Magnus’s combination of athletic excellence, leadership, and character make him a model Pioneer—one who has helped elevate the program to new heights and inspire those who will follow in his footsteps.
