The Mooresville boys tennis team hosted Plainfield this afternoon. The Quakers came away with a 3-2 win at varsity and a 10-0 win at JV. For the varsity, at #1 singles, Archer Query battled to a 6-4, 6-7(5-7), 7-6(7-4) victory. At #2 singles, Baylor Query dropped a tough three-setter 7-6, 4-6, 5-7. At #3 singles, Kolten Wilson pulled out a marathon match 3-6, 6-3, 7-6(11-9). In doubles action, DJ Enkhorn and Brady McNally fell 0-6, 2-6 at #1, while Jared Kempf and Ben Coffey lost 2-6, 0-6 at #2. With the result, the varsity’s overall record moves to 6-3 (3-2 Mid-State Conference). The JV fell to 4-4 (3-2 conference). The Pioneers are back in action on Monday, September 8, when they travel to Terre Haute North for a 6 p.m. non-conference matchup.
