MHS Boys Tennis defeats Decatur Central in Mid-State Conference Match

The MHS boys tennis team traveled to Decatur Central this afternoon for a Mid-State Conference matchup. The Pioneers’ varsity came away with a 5-0 sweep, while the JV battled to a 3-3 tie with the Hawks. For the varsity, Archer Query earned a dominant win at #1 singles (6-0, 6-0). At #2 singles, Baylor Query won 6-1, 6-1, and at #3 singles, Jared Kempf posted a 6-0, 6-0 victory. In doubles play, Kolten Wilson and DJ Enkhorn cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win at #1 doubles, while Ben Coffey and Grayson Furniss secured a 6-1, 6-3 win at #2 doubles. On the JV side, Gavin Cooper won 8-0 and Abram Haack earned an 8-2 victory in singles. In doubles, Landen Stoner and Zach Meador paired up for an 8-1 win. With the victory, the Pioneers’ varsity improves to 3-2 overall and 2-0 in the Mid-State Conference. The JV moves to 1-2-1 overall and 1-0-1 in conference play. Mooresville will be back in action on Thursday, August 28, when they host Whiteland in another conference matchup starting at 5:30 p.m.
