The Mooresville Pioneers Varsity Baseball Team opened their final Mid State Conference two game series of the 2025 regular season with the Whiteland Warriors on Wednesday evening. Due to inclement weather on Tuesday, the opening game was held at Mooresville High School and will conclude at Whiteland on Thursday May 22, 2025. Wednesday was "Senior Night" as the Mooresville Pioneers Baseball Program celebrated Seniors Kaden Bruhn and Orion Lucas. The Pioneers took an early 6-0 lead after two innings of play and lead 7-2 at the conclusion of five innings. Whiteland would score two in the top of the sixth and five in the top of the seventh to take a 9-8 lead on the Pioneers heading into the bottom of the seventh inning. Mooresville tied the game at nine on a single by Grant Martin scoring Archer Query advancing Orion Lucas to third base. Orion Lucas would score on a wild pitch giving the Mooresville Pioneers the 10-9 win. The "Senior Night" win improves the Pioneers regular season record to 15-10 and 9-4 in the Mid State Conference. The Pioneers will wrap up MSC play on Thursday May 22, 2025 as they travel to Whiteland to take on the Warriors in game two of the series, first pitch scheduled for 6:00pm.
