Mooresville Holds On for 29–28 Win Over Columbus East

Mooresville secured a narrow 29–28 victory over Columbus East in an exciting game that featured strong defense and a late push from the Olympians. The Pioneers came out strong, taking a 10–3 lead in the first quarter and extending it to 18–3 by halftime. Mooresville’s defense set the tone early, limiting scoring opportunities and forcing tough possessions. Columbus East responded with a strong second half, outscoring Mooresville 13–5 in the third quarter and 12–6 in the fourth. Despite the rally, Mooresville maintained composure and did just enough to preserve the one-point win. Bridget DeFur led the Pioneers with 8 points, including a perfect 2-for-2 from the free-throw line. Ivy Land added 6 points, while Mare Simpson also contributed 6 points. Sophia Brown scored 4 points, Skylah Boyden finished with 2 points, and Jazmine Hunt added 2 points. Eastyn Deemer chipped in 1 point. Defensively, Liv Culver played a key role with great defense and multiple steals. Mooresville also received strong energy from the bench, as Lala Montgomery and Mia Laws provided enthusiastic support throughout the game.
