Volleyball Sweeps Northeast Dubois

The Varsity Lady Lions earned their first victory of the season at home last night, defeating conference opponent Northeast Dubois Lady Jeeps in straight sets. With the win, Loogootee improves to 1-2 overall and 1-0 in conference play. Alaina Diamond powered the front row attack with 16 kills and 4 blocks. From the service line, freshman Lydia Hawkins racked up an impressive 25 service points, including 5 aces, while also dishing out 15 assists alongside senior setter Cora Consley, who added 10 assists of her own. Defensively, libero Jocelynn Sims anchored the back row with 22 digs, while senior Macy Knepp chipped in 15 digs. The Lady Lions also received key contributions from Aubrey Gilbert, Karmen Wilson, Lauren Nolan, Savannah Greene, and Madison Davis, who all played valuable roles in the win. In JV action, the Lady Lions battled hard but fell in three sets, moving to 0-2 on the season. Both squads return to action next Tuesday at Linton, before coming back home on September 4th to host the Orleans Bulldogs.
