The Loogootee Lady Lions continued their strong start to the season Tuesday night, picking up a 4-1 victory over North Daviess and improving to 7-3 on the year, giving the Lady Lions their 6th straight victory Loogootee had a balanced offensive attack, led by Savannah Green with 10 kills. Karmen Wilson added nine kills, while Lydia Hawkins and Aubrey Gilbert each finished with seven. Gilbert directed the offense with 23 assists, while Hawkins added 14. Gilbert also led the Lady Lions with 11 service points, followed by Hawkins and Madison Davis with eight each. Hawkins led the team with four aces, while Jocelynn Sims and Gilbert each recorded two. Defensively, Sims continued to anchor the back row, finishing with a team-high 28 digs. Lauren Nolan added 11 digs in the victory. The Lady Lions also got the job done at the JV level, defeating North Daviess in straight sets, 26-24, 25-15, moving to 6-1 on the season. Kensleigh Carrico had a strong all-around performance for the JV Lady Lions, recording seven kills, nine assists and two aces. Abbi Rollins added six kills and a team-high seven service points, while Fara Fisher matched Carrico with nine assists. Haylo Harmon led the defense with nine digs, and Addison Moore contributed five service points. With the varsity victory, Loogootee moves to 7-3 on the season.
