The varsity boys tennis team headed to Evansville to take on Evansville Memorial on Tuesday night. The Lions entered the night at 6-0 on the season, but it wasn't their night. The Lions were swept and lost 5-0. Although they lost 5-0, there were several close matches. Cooper VanHoy fell 6-2, 0-6, 3-6 at #1 Singles to Zach Woodyard. Grayson Kluesner fell to Hunter Kendall 3-6, 6-7 (5-7) at #2 Singles. Knox Jeffers fell 4-6; 5-7 at #3 Singles to Ty Jackson. In doubles action, Emmett Graber and Gabe Walton fell 7-6 (7-5); 3-6; 4-6 at #1 Doubles to Kenny Dilger and Porter Will and Reed Brittain and Carter Downey lost 6-7 (2-7); 4-6 to Graham Baker and Andon Miller. The JV Lions fell 3-2 to the Tigers. They were able to pick up wins at #3 Singles with Landon Stieman and #1 Doubles with Rhett Whtney and Rawlings Bell. The Lions will be back in action on Wednesday night when they travel to Barr-Reeve. Due to the heat, the match has been moved back to a 7PM start.
