The var.sity Lions headed to Washington to take on the Hatchets in HS tennis on Thursday night. The Lions were able to claim victories at #2 Singles; #3 Singles; and #2 Doubles to claim a 3-2 victory and move to 6-0 on the season. At #2 Singles, Grayson Kluesner defeated Alexander Hannah 6-0, 6-0. #3 Singles player Knox Jeffers topped Owen Skomp 6-1, 6-0 and Reed Brittain and Cater Downey beat Brooks Chestnut and Wyatt Barber 6-0, 6-0. The two matches that the Hatchets claimed were very tight matches. Cooper VanHoy dropped his #1 Singles spot to Josh Meredith 4-6, 5-7. Emmett Graber and Gabe Walton fell in a great three-set match at #1 Doubles. The duo lost 4-6, 7-5, 7-6 (6-10) to Brody Armes and Layton Welsh in a 10-point third set tie-breaker. In JV action Dawson Potts and Rhett Whitney both won 6-0 at singles. Whitney and Potts teamed to win 6-0 at #1 Doubles and Ryken Farhar and Henry Humerickhouse were 6-1 at #2 Doubles. The Lions are off for the weekend, but travel to Evansville Memorial next Tuesday
