Loogootee Jr-Sr High School

The Loogootee volleyball teams traveled to Jasper, with the JV Lady Lions falling in two sets before the varsity dropped a three-set match to the Wildcats. The JV Lady Lions (1-1) won 15-25, 17-25. Kensleigh Carrico led Loogootee with 5 kills and 2 aces, while Haylo Harmon recorded a team-high 8 digs. Fara Fisher finished with 5 assists, Carrico added 3, and Addison Moore led the team with 3 service points. The Varsity Lady Lions (0-2) fell to Jasper 14-25, 7-25, 9-25. Loogootee stayed within striking distance during the early portion of the opening set. Lydia Hawkins picked up a pair of early kills, while Alaina Diamond added a kill and was involved at the net with a block assist as the Lady Lions tried to keep pace. Jasper began creating separation midway through the set and eventually took the opener, 25-14. Jasper controlled much of the second set, jumping in front early and limiting Loogootee's opportunities to string points together. The Lady Lions picked up points from Hawkins and Diamond at the net, but Jasper continued to extend its advantage on the way to a 25-7 win. The Lady Lions showed some fight early in the third. Loogootee picked up early points at the net, including kills from Hawkins and Diamond, but Jasper again found a lengthy run and pulled away to complete the sweep, 25-9. Hawkins and Diamond led the Loogootee attack with 4 kills each. Aubrey Gilbert finished with a team-high 5 assists, while Hawkins added 4. Defensively, Lauren Nolan led Loogootee with 6 digs, with Jocelynn Sims and Gilbert each recording 5. Nolan also led the Lady Lions with 3 service points. Loogootee falls to 0-2 on the varsity season, while the JV Lady Lions move to 1-1.
