Jackson Lengacher drove in four runs on two hits to lead the Loogootee Lions past the Washington Hatchets 13-12 on Tuesday. Lengacher doubled in the second inning, scoring two runs, and singled in the third inning, scoring two. Loogootee collected nine hits and Washington had 12 in the high-scoring affair. The Lions got on the board in the top of the first inning after Holden Lingenfelter singled, scoring two runs, and Liam Kluesner laid down a sacrifice bunt, scoring one run. Washington then tied the game in the bottom of the first thanks to a single by Knox Wickersham, a double by Oscar Mora Lopez, and a single by Luke Clark. Loogootee made the score 7-3 in the top of the second after Eli Graber singled, scoring one run, August Weitkamp drew a walk, scoring one run, and Lengacher doubled, scoring two runs. The Lions scored five runs on two hits in the top of the third inning. Landon Frady induced Graber to hit into a fielder's choice, but two runs scored, Weitkamp singled, scoring one run, and Lengacher singled, scoring two runs. The Hatchets scored five runs on four hits in the bottom of the third inning. Cash Cornelius singled, scoring one run, Clark doubled, scoring two runs, Sawyer Baker singled, scoring one run, and Frady singled, scoring one run. Lingenfelter started the game for Loogootee. The starter gave up seven hits and eight runs (six earned) over two innings, striking out three and walking two. Bentley Elsey started on the bump for Washington. The starter allowed four hits and seven runs (six earned) over two innings, striking out three and walking two. Weitkamp appeared in relief for Loogootee. Weitkamp and Lengacher were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for the Lions while hitting back-to-back. Lingenfelter stole two bases. Loogootee stole seven bases in the game. Washington Junior High amassed 12 hits in the game. Cornelius drove the middle of the lineup, leading them with four runs batted in. The second baseman went 2-for-4 on the day. Frady set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading Washington with three hits in three at bats. Clark and Mora Lopez each collected multiple hits for Washington. Carson Clark stole two bases. The Hatchets stole six bases in the game.
