JH Baseball Falls to Rivet

Loogootee Lions JH Baseball lost to Rivet Middle School 2026 5-3 on Tuesday at Home. Rivet Middle School 2026 opened the scoring in the first after Max Oakes doubled, scoring two runs. Loogootee Lions JH Baseball tied the game in the bottom of the first thanks to a ground out by Jackson Lengacher, and a walk by Reid Wagler. Rivet Middle School 2026 took the lead in the top of the third inning after Will Herman singled down the left field line, Liam Carie singled down the right field line, and Cy Richter flew out, each scoring one run. Lengacher led things off on the mound for Loogootee Lions JH Baseball. The righty gave up six hits and five runs over three innings, striking out three and walking four. William Holka stepped on the mound first for Rivet Middle School 2026. The starter gave up four hits and three runs (two earned) over three innings, striking out three and walking three. Liam Kluesner led Loogootee Lions JH Baseball with two hits in two at bats. Wagler and Lengacher each drove in one run for Loogootee Lions JH Baseball. Holden Lingenfelter and August Weitkamp each stole multiple bases for Loogootee Lions JH Baseball. Loogootee Lions JH Baseball ran wild on the base paths, accumulating seven stolen bases for the game. Loogootee Lions JH Baseball were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Weitkamp made the most plays with four. Oakes went 2-for-3 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. Cooper Stearns and Oakes each collected two hits for Rivet Middle School 2026. Holka led Rivet Middle School 2026 with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating seven walks for the game. Stearns stole two bases. Rivet Middle School 2026 stole six bases in the game.
