Jackson Lengacher collected three hits in four at bats, as Loogootee Lions JH Baseball defeated Shoals JH 14-0 on Monday. Lengacher doubled in the first inning, singled in the second inning, and singled in the fifth inning. Loogootee Lions JH Baseball got on the board in the top of the first inning after Lengacher doubled to left field, Holden Lingenfelter grounded out, and Garrett Downey walked, each scoring one run. A single by Lengacher, a single by Reid Wagler, and a fly out by Downey helped Loogootee Lions JH Baseball extend their early lead in the second. Loogootee Lions JH Baseball added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Shoals JH dropped a third strike, and Judah Davis grounded out, each scoring one run. Loogootee Lions JH Baseball scored five runs on two hits in the top of the fifth inning. Lengacher singled, scoring one run, Liam Kluesner drew a walk, scoring one run, and an error scored two runs. August Weitkamp began the game for Loogootee Lions JH Baseball. The pitcher allowed two hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out five and walking three. L Ryan stepped on the mound first for Shoals JH. The hurler allowed three hits and three runs (one earned) over one inning, striking out none and walking one. Lingenfelter tossed one and two-thirds innings of zero-run ball for Loogootee Lions JH Baseball in relief. The pitcher surrendered zero hits, striking out two and walking two. Wagler collected two hits for Loogootee Lions JH Baseball in two at bats. Downey paced Loogootee Lions JH Baseball with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, collecting eight walks for the game. Lengacher stole two bases. The Lions will be back in action on Tuesday night when they travel to Paoli.
