Loogootee Lions JH Softball A v. Shoals JH Softball A 4-23-2026 Lady Lions Roll Past Rox Loogootee didn’t need a ton of hits to create a whole lot of pressure. The Lions scored three runs in the first inning without putting a ball in play that left the infield, taking advantage of a walk and a pair of passed balls to jump ahead early. The second inning was even more unusual — five runs on zero hits. Loogootee showed patience, discipline, and enough baserunning chaos to force Shoals into mistakes. Fara and Alyn each drew RBI walks, another run scored on a passed ball, and suddenly the Lions had an 8–0 cushion without ever stringing together a traditional rally. Remington Bell and Anna Cramer took it from there as they sliced through the Jug Rox lineup. The pitching battery struck out nine over five innings, allowing just two hits while working around four walks. Remington generated 20 swinging strikes on 91 pitches and kept Shoals off balance all night. Two of the walks came around to score, but with the encouragement and game calling of her catcher, Anna, she never let the game tilt out of control. Offensively, Loogootee spread the production around. Taryn, Jessica, Kori, Fara, and Alyn each collected a hit, and Taryn drove in the lone RBI that came off the bat. The Lions drew eight walks, stole nine bases, and turned one double play — a full night of pressure and execution. Defensively, Loogootee was steady outside of one error, and the pitching staff stranded runners when it mattered. Shoals reached four times after seeing a first‑pitch strike, but the Lions limited the damage and controlled the pace from start to finish. Final score: Loogootee 10, Shoals 4 Charms Blow Pop Player of the Game: Anna Cramer - Drew 2 Walks Plating 3 Runs and Snatching 2 Stolen Bases -Anna has traditionally been a regular catcher for the Lions Squad the last couple years, but she has been asked to handle a lot of work at 1st Base this year and she plays team first softball. She and her sure glove have handled that work with terrific execution and a great attitude. She was excited to get some work behind the plate tonight and exhibited great leadership as she not only controlled her pitcher’s mental state but she also called almost the entire game herself. A great night for a young lady having a wonderful start to the season. Loogootee Lions JH Softball B v. Shoals B 4-23-2026 Big First Inning Propel Lady Lions Thursday’s B‑Team matchup with Shoals started fast and never slowed down. Loogootee put up eight runs in the first inning, turning the opening frame into baserunners and quality swings. Ava Knepp and Leela Franklin each knocked in a run with singles, a pair of passed balls brought two more across, Kori Arvin added an RBI single, and Kollins Jeffers capped the inning with a three‑run single that broke the game wide open. Shoals scratched across two in the top half, but the Lions answered again in the third — this time with six runs on just one hit. Kollins delivered another two‑run single, Ava and Leela each drew RBI walks, and a passed ball added one more. It was the kind of inning where patience and pressure did all the heavy lifting. Kollins earned the win in the circle pitching to Ava. The duo allowed just two hits and two runs (one earned) over three innings. She struck out three, walked one, and generated five swinging strikes on 41 pitches. The defense behind her was spotless — zero errors and a .250 batting average on balls in play — and 75 percent of Shoals’ contact stayed on the ground. Offensively, Loogootee collected eight walks and 62 percent quality at‑bats which was more than enough to tilt the scoreboard in favor of the Lions. Final score: Loogootee 14, Shoals 2 Charms Blow Pop Player of the Game: Kollins Jeffers - Went 2-3 with Two Singles, 2 RBIs, and 2 runs attributed to our strongest offensive line -Got the start and handled the 3 inning game from start to finish.
