Four RBI's from Jeffers Leads Lady Lions to Victory

Ava Jeffers drove in four runs on two hits to lead Loogootee Varsity Lady Lions past Springs Valley 18-6 on Monday. In the first inning, Jeffers doubled, scoring three runs. Loogootee Varsity Lady Lions scored 11 runs in the first inning on the way to victory. Jocelynn Sims singled, scoring one run, Brynn Lengacher singled, scoring two runs, Chloe Lawson singled, scoring one run, Lauren Nolan drew a walk, scoring one run, Jeffers doubled, scoring three runs, Lengacher drew a walk, scoring one run, and an error scored two runs. A single by Lengacher, and an error helped Loogootee Varsity Lady Lions extend their early lead in the second. A fielder's choice by Jeffers, and a double by Sims helped Loogootee Varsity Lady Lions extend their early lead in the third. Sims earned the win for Loogootee Varsity Lady Lions. The starting pitcher surrendered three hits and five runs (two earned) over four innings, striking out four and walking one. Tanessa Jackson took the loss for Springs Valley.
