Despite a 6-run deficit in the fourth inning, Loogootee Varsity Lady Lions almost came all the way back, eventually falling 10-9 to Orleans on Monday. Loogootee Varsity Lady Lions closed the gap by scoring on a walk, a single, a single, a single, a single, and an error. Brynn Lengacher collected three hits in three at bats in the loss. Lengacher singled in the third inning, singled in the sixth inning, and singled in the first inning. The Lady Lions piled up 10 hits in the game. Maycee Hembree and Lengacher each drove in two runs for the Lady Lions. Sims collected two hits for Loogootee in five at bats. The Lady Lions turned one double play in the game. Our Lady Lions battled and finally started finding their groove again after a rough stretch the last few games. Again, I am very proud of their fight and energy during this game and I think they are seeing the results of being energetic and vocal from pitch #1 to the last one. We are making progress in a lot of the right areas and still have things to work on, but we are getting there. We still have a lot of season left to get prepared for post season play. Loogootee Varsity Lady Lions welcome Wood Memorial on Thursday.
