The Loogootee JH Lions A Team got production from everywhere, but the 6-7–8–9 hitters shined. Elin, Jessica, Remington, and Lyric combined for six of the team’s eight hits and chipped in 2 runs and 4 RBIs. Anna drew a bases‑loaded walk, Elin followed with a two‑run single, and Jessica added another RBI knock to make it a four‑run first inning. In the second, a hit‑by‑pitch, a walk from Kori, and a triple from Elin pushed the lead even further. By the third, Loogootee’s bats were fully awake. Alyn doubled to left, Taryn tripled to right, and both brought home runs as the Lions kept piling on. Fara Fisher handled the pitching duties early and was sharp, throwing three scoreless innings with five strikeouts and no walks. Falyn Fisher came in behind her and continued the trend of missing bats — the sister duo combined for 20 swinging strikes and threw strikes 72 percent of the time. Orleans managed just two earned runs, both coming after defensive miscues. Offensively, Loogootee stayed patient and dangerous. Ten walks, seven stolen bases, five two‑out RBIs, and a 58 percent quality‑at‑bat rate tell the story. Elin and Taryn each drove in three, Remington and Elin collected two hits apiece, and the Lions put together a complete team outing. Final score: Loogootee 12, Orleans 2. Our Charms Blow Pop Player of the Game: Elin Wade - Big Bat going 2-4 with a game starting 2 RBI single, RBI triple, and scoring 1 plate touch of her own **Lions B Team started early and kept the Dawgs out of striking distance** Loogootee wasted no time, putting up five runs in the first inning. Falyn kicked things off with a two‑run single, Ava followed with an RBI knock, Bailey drew a bases‑loaded walk, and a passed ball pushed another run across. Falyn added another run in the second with a productive groundout, and a passed ball in the third stretched the lead to 7–2. Kollins earned the win, working around some traffic to allow just one hit and two runs over two innings. Remington came in behind her and got Orleans hitters to chase six swinging strikes on just 27 pitches — not bad for a night’s work. On offense Ava led the way with a 2‑for‑2 performance, Kollins swiped two bags, and the team drew five walks to keep pressure on all night. Nearly a third of Loogootee’s balls in play were line drives, and when they weren’t hitting it hard, they were forcing Orleans into mistakes. Defensively, the Lions kept the ball on the ground — 80 percent of Orleans’ contact stayed down — but a few walks and an error extended innings. Two of the six walks issued came around to score, and only five of sixteen hitters saw a first‑pitch strike. Still, the group battled, made plays when they needed them, and never let Orleans get close enough to threaten the lead. Final score: Loogootee 7, Orleans 3. Our Charms Blow Pop Player of the B Game: Kollins Jeffers -First start of the season and gets the win -Went 1-1 with a walk and 2 runs scored while swiping 2 stolen bases
