On Tuesday night the JH Lady Lions traveled to Northeast Dubois. The 7th Grade opened the night with a competitive game. Dubois jumped out to an 8-0 lead, but the 7th graders battled back, only trailing 18-21 at half, and taking the lead 30-24 in the 4th quarter. A few bad decisions cost the 7th grade the lead late in the game and the victory, leading to a 30-32 defeat. The 7th grade fell to 12-9 with the loss. They were led in scoring by Lyric Graber with 6 points, Elin Wade had 5 points, Alyn Strange, Kori Arvin, Abby Meyer, and Remington Bell all finished with 4 points, and Ayla Hawkins had 3. The 8th Grade Lady Lions came into this one looking to avenge a loss from their 7th grade season. They did just that, jumping out to an 8-0 lead after the first quarter, and ultimately winning 29-19. For the second straight game, the Lady Lions had a deep buzzer beater, this one from Fara Fisher at the volleyball line to end the 2nd quarter. The 8th Graders were led in scoring by Taryn Brown with 11 points, Fara Fisher had 9, Addison Moore had 6, Hattie Humerickhouse had 2, and Kensleigh Carrico had 1. This victory moved the 8th Graders to 18-3. The JH Lady Lions are back in action on Saturday morning at home against Washington, pending weather conditions.
