On Thursday night, the Lady Lions knocked down a barrage of three-pointers in the first half and cruised to a conference victory. The first four field goals of the night all came from beyond the arc, beginning with a pair of threes from Alaina Diamond, followed by triples from Sophia Toy and Ava Jeffers. That early shooting gave the Lady Lions an 11–6 advantage midway through the first quarter. A Jeffers steal and layup capped the opening period, giving Loogootee a 16–13 lead after one. The second quarter opened with another three from Alexis Heckard, igniting an 18–0 run that put the game firmly in the Lady Lions’ control. During the stretch, Jeffers found Diamond down low, Diamond returned the favor by finding Lydia Hawkins underneath, and Diamond added a coast-to-coast finish to extend the lead to 27–13. A Diamond pull-up jumper, a Hawkins bucket off a pass from Mkenna Gregory, and one final Diamond three sent the Lady Lions into the locker room with a commanding 34–13 halftime lead. Loogootee continued to share the ball in the second half. Jeffers assisted Diamond and Hawkins on consecutive possessions, Wilson hit Diamond leaking out in transition, and Diamond once again found Hawkins inside to close the third quarter with a 43–27 advantage. Hawkins scored twice more underneath in the fourth quarter on passes from Heckard and Jeffers, sealing a 48–35 Lady Lion victory. The win moves Loogootee to 12–5 on the season and 3–1 in conference play. Diamond’s 22-point performance also moved her into sole possession of 9th place on the Lady Lions all-time scoring list with 827 career points, surpassing Diane Kiefner and Julianne Bell.
