5th/6th Grade Teams Play Well at Linton Shootout

The 5th and 6th Grade Lions traveled to Linton on Saturday and participated in the annual Linton Shootout. The Lion 5th grade went 2-1 on the day and moved their record to 8-3 on the season. The 6th graders went 3-0 and moved to 12-0 on the year. The 5th graders lost to Terre Haute North and then topped Shakamak and North Central (43-21). Hayden Edwards had 8 points against North Central to lead the Lions. Broden Hawkins added 7; Zane Roach and Keaton Smith each had 6; 4 for LJ Marks; and Brayden Lyon and Kamden Wilson each had a basket. The 6th Graders defeated Terre Haute North (45-37); Linton (57-26); and North Central (49-9). Against Terre Haute North Griffyn Thompson led the way with 18 points. Jenner Strange had a big game with 16 points including four threes. Nick Helderman had 7 points and Kyle Wade had 3 for the Lions. In the Linton game Thompson led the way with 23 and Kyle Wade had 12. Nick Helderman had 9; Jenner Strange 7; and Eli Graber, Ryder Davis, and Reid Wagler each had 2. In the finale against North Central the Lions were led by Ryder Davis with 8 points. Griffyn Thompson had 7. Nick Helderman had 6; Fallyn Taylor and Jenner Strange each had 5; Nick Helderman; Boston Shoultz; Kasey Bratton; and Reid Wagler each had 4. Kyle Wade had a basket.
