On Thursday night, the Junior High Girls Basketball teams traveled to Forest Park. The 7th grade opened the night with a loss, competitive the whole game, it came down to a game winning bucket for the Forest Park Lady Rangers to seal the victory 25-23. The 5-point Lady Lion lead with under 5 minutes to go and Wade game tying 3 with 30 seconds remaining weren't enough for the 7th graders to close it out. This moves the 7th grade back to 6-4 on the year. The Lady Lions were led in scoring by Ayla Hawkins with 11, Elin Wade had 5, Kori Arvin finished with 4 and Alyn Strange had 3. The 8th grade looked for a bounce back game following a loss to Southridge in OT on Monday night. They came out of the gates quick, but Forest Park answered and took a halftime lead 11-10. The Lady Lions fought back, taking a 21-17 lead with under three minutes remaining, but it wasn't in the cards for the 8th graders tonight. In OT, the Lady Lions started with a missed layup, followed by Forest Park making theirs, and that would be the theme of the OT, as Forest Park closed it out 33-27. The JH Lady Lions were led in scoring by Sydnee Salmon and Taryn Brown both with 8. Fara Fisher finished with 4, and Addison Moore with 2. The Junior High Lady Lions are back in action Monday night at home against Holy Family.
