The Loogootee Lady Lions went on the road for the first time this season, traveling to Eastern Greene for two quarters of JV action followed by the Varsity matchup. The JV squad took care of business, earning an 18–10 win and improving to 1–1 on the year. Mkenna Gregory paced the team with 8 points. In the Varsity game, Loogootee wasted no time. Off the opening tip, Alaina Diamond scored on a feed from Lydia Hawkins, and the Lady Lions immediately jumped into their press. The pressure triggered a dominant 15–0 run, featuring baskets from Alexis Heckard, Sophia Toy, Ava Jeffers, and Diamond. Eastern Greene responded with a run of their own, trimming the margin to 20–14, but Diamond stopped the surge with a strong take to the basket. She went on to score six straight points, sending Loogootee into halftime with a 26–17 lead. The Lady Lions continued to control the second half. Hawkins scored a bucket to push the lead to 13, and an assist from Jeffers set up a Heckard three to extend it to 35–19. Loogootee led 38–22 after three and closed out a convincing 50–28 victory. Junior Alaina Diamond led the way once again, posting 20 points and 13 rebounds, her second double-double of the season. Alexis Heckard added 11 points, Lydia Hawkins contributed 5 points and a strong 13 rebounds, and Ava Jeffers hauled in 11 boards. The Lady Lions return to action on Tuesday as they travel to Mitchell.
