The JV Tigers were fired up coming into Frankfort to face one of their archrivals for the final time in conference play. The Tigers enjoyed the majority of possession and chances throughout the match, ultimately winning 5-1. The scoring commenced eight minutes into the game when a Tiger attack forced a defensive mistake from the Hot Dogs when an attempted clearance only found an on-rushing David Nsoki for the first goal. The Tigers kept the pressure up and found three goals in a five-minute span midway through the first half. The second goal for the Tigers came from a through ball from Nsoki into the right side of the box, which found Oscar Frazee. Frazee’s initial shot was saved, but he alertly slotted in the rebound for the goal. Moments later an excellent cross from Israel Oluwakorede created havoc in the box and the ball finally found the feet of Enyel Ruiz whose low shot found its way through multiple Hot Dog defenders for the third goal. Finally, to cap off the first half scoring for the Tigers, some good combination play in midfield led to Nsoki getting in behind the defensive line where his low-driven ball across the penalty area found an unmarked Edward Velasco who calmly finished past the keeper for the fourth Lebanon goal. Towards the end of the first half an infraction in the box led to a Frankfort penalty kick, but the shot was well-saved by Tiger keeper Garrett Adams. Given the commanding lead the Tigers switched the formation and rotated their squad while still maintaining control of the match in the second half. With 15 minutes left on the clock Lebanon was awarded a free kick approximately 35 yards from goal. Talen Dickey stepped up and blasted a shot out of the reach of the keeper and under the crossbar for a spectacular goal. With under two minutes remaining Frankfort found a garbage time goal when a cross found an attacker for a headed goal. The thrilling win helps continue to build the momentum for the JV Tigers as they look forward to their JV Invitation next weekend.
