The Tigers XC teams ran in the Leap into September Invitational for their first 5K of the season on a tough course hosted by Southmont. Both teams take 1st place to bring home the hardware! The Lady Tigers started the night with a score of 23 points for a 1st place finish. Crawfordsville 2nd (81 pts); Western Boone 3rd (83 pts); North Putnam 4th (94 pts); North Montgomery 5th (112 pts); Southmont 6th (117 pts). Leading the way was Junior Penny Lamerson with a time of 21:26, followed by Sophie Kyker in 2nd, Alexis Lahrman 3rd, and Abbi Riggs in 6th all to receive top 10 medals. Rounding out the top 7 was Haley Tiefel in 11th, Izzy Metheny 12th, and Averee Maciel in 15th. Also running for the Lady Tigers with a great race was Claire Larson 16th, Soteria Udu 21st, Leah Ziats 27th, Charlotte Kleindl 28th, Amellia Spencer 29th, Hadley Warren 32nd, Marli McConnell 33rd, Hayleigh Coyle 35th, and Abbie Guilliams 42nd. The boys' team had to fight the last 400 meters to come out with a 1st place finish with 56 points! Crawfordsville 2nd (61 pts); North Putnam 3rd (64 pts); Southmont 4th (80 pts); Western Boone 5th (117 pts); North Montgomery 6th (125 pts). Leading the way with his first race was senior William Meyer finishing in 2nd place with a time of 17:42. Followed by Tyler Meyer 5th; coming in strong as a pack was Levi Pittman 14th, Isaac Harvey 17th, and Brynner Sloan 18th. Also running for the Tigers coming in as a pack was Jesse Acton 27th, Philip Kiper 28th, and Jovani Suarez in 29th. Joel Salinas also finished out his first race in 51st.
