The Lebanon Lady Tigers Varsity Soccer team faced a tough defeat tonight, losing 4-0 to Sheridan. Despite the loss, the Tigers displayed commendable spirit. In their season opener, featuring new players and new positions, challenges were anticipated. Throughout the match, the team's resolve did not waver; they endeavored to rally but couldn't find success in goal-scoring. Goalkeeper Aubrey Goodlett made impressive saves, maintaining her composure and determination to keep the team competitive. The defensive line, led by the captain GraceAnne Newman, guided the defense in their responsibilities. Her efforts were bolstered by Breanna Stratton, Allie Swisher-Fortner, Autumn Jones, Sydney Smock, Abby Frazier, Carley Adams, Haylee Holloman, and Emma Meyer, who all fought hard in their attempt to thwart Sheridan's advances but couldn't prevent some of their plays. The midfielders—Mady LaPlae, MJ Platt, (Captain) Ava Thieke, Hanna Newsom, Sarah Wright, Taylor Furgason, Alyza Holloman, and Karley Roberts—collaborated effectively to forge passing opportunities, yet converting these into goals remained elusive. The offensive line persisted in their efforts to penetrate Sheridan's defense and sought to create scoring chances for Caroline Burkeybyle, whose game was unfortunately cut short due to injury. With areas for improvement identified, the Lebanon Lady Tigers are set to address these before their next game on Thursday. Despite today's setback, the lessons learned will fuel their determination to enhance their performance with each passing day.
