3200m Relay Leads LP Boys Track & Field with Impressive Showing at Max Truex Invite

The 3200m Relay Team of Jack Miskowicz, Hunter Quadlin, Landyn Hunt, and Liam Lilly dominated the field last night at the Max Truex Invitational at Warsaw HS, and posted the 2nd best time in LPTF history in the process. All four members ran splits of 2 minutes flat or below to post an overall time of 7:56.53, a mere 6 seconds off of the school record of 7:50.97. That time currently places them top 5 in the state so far this season. That was not the only highlight of the evening, as the Slicers earned several personal bests, and LPTF all-time top performances. Tayshaun Williams raced to season best times of 10.89 and 21.80 in the 100m and 200m respectively. Keigan Henckel also ran season best times of 11.45 and 23.26 in the same events. Landyn Hunt ran to a personal best time of 49.95 in the open 400m, which is currently the best time in the Region so far. Lilly also finished 2nd in the 800m running a season best performance of 1:59.57, which is also the top performance in the region. Gavin Wilson won the 300IH while running a new personal best time of 39.55 (and 2nd in LPTF history). Ayden Hunt ran a new personal best time of 42.82, breaking 43 seconds for the first time. Capping off the evening was another stellar performance from Wilson, Lilly, L. Hunt, and Williams who won the 1600m relay by almost 4 seconds with a tme of 3:23.55. In the field events, the shot put relay of Lucas DelRio and Casey Cochran finished 3rd as a team, and the discus relay of Giancarlo Calderon and Leonardo Vargas finished 6th. The high Jump relay of Matzke and Preston Scheidt finished 3rd, and the long jump relay of Matzke and Darius Hurt finished 1st. Overall, it was yet another outstanding showing for the Slicers as they inch closer to postseason competitions.
