LP Girls Track and Field Begins Outdoor Season at Merrillville (4/15/25)

LaPorte Girls Track and Field suffered a set of losses on Tuesday, April 15 against Merrillville (56-75) and Lake Central (30-102), but had many impressive performances. Top scoring individuals were as follows: 4x800m Relay-Caylin VanShoyck, Anna Beck, Natali Cuarenta, Caroline Wildfang (11:34.97) 3rd Place 100m Dash- Kyria Zapala (13.07) 4th Place 1600m Run- Faith Spain (5:25.39) 3rd Place, Anna Beck (6:16.47) 7th Place 4x100m Relay- Ava Redlin, Susan Anglin, Kyria Zapala, Taniya Campbell (52.15) 2nd Place 400m Dash- Maggie Conner (1:02.62) 2nd Place, Madalyn Kreamer (1:05.59) 5th Place 300m Hurdles- Lana Schable (50.73) 3rd Place 800m Run- Faith Spain (2:31.12) 1st Place, Caitlyn Carnes (2:33.98) 2nd Place 200m Dash- Taniya Campbell (27.13) 4th Place, Kyria Zapala (27.15) 5th Place 3200m Run- Caylin VanShoyck (12:13.77) 5th Place 4x400m Relay- Madalyn Kreamer, Caitlyn Carnes, Lilly Spain, Maggie Conner (4:31.81) 2nd Place High Jump- Susan Anglin (4'6") 3rd Place Pole Vault- Anna Beck (7'0") 4th Place, Kate Doty (6'0") 5th Place Discus- Rae Dawsey (92-03) 3rd Place Shot Put- Rae Dawsey (33-09.5) 4th Place Although the LPGTF crew went 0-2 on the day, almost the entire team achieved personal records throughout the meet. The ladies did an amazing job battling the wind and cold, and we are very excited to see what they are able to achieve as the season continues. LPGTF is 0-2 on the season.
