Big First Inning Leads Crown Point Past La Porte Varsity Slicers Crown Point scored six runs in the first inning, which helped them defeat La Porte Varsity Slicers 11-0 on Wednesday. Crown Point got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Jase Horton singled, scoring two runs, Jaxtyn Alexander drew a walk, scoring one run, Logan Cotton hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, and Brody Langhans singled, scoring two runs. Crown Point added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Sean Dunlap doubled down the left field line, and Horton singled down the right field line, each scoring two runs. Joey Kirk pitched three and one-third innings in relief for La Porte Varsity Slicers. The hurler allowed seven hits and five runs (four earned) while, striking out four and walking one.
