Freshman vs Chesterton High School (20 - 14) Win Your La Porte Slicers won a hard fought game on the road tonight against the Chesterton Trojans. The o-line played as one unit all night and was able to help control the clock early on. Wes Kaiser connected with J'Myre Blash for a 30 yard touchdown in the 2nd qt to go up 6-0. Jaziah Akins had some impressive runs tonight to include a 6 yard rushing touchdown in the 3rd capped off by an 86 yard touchdown in the 4th. Eli Combs was able to find Landon Cowgill for the 2 pt conversion to put the slicers up for good. Early on in the 4th qt Cooper Bealor made a huge heads up play recovering a fumble from a bad snap which set up Akins long run to position themselves for the win. Xavier Alva aka Rigby came up huge in the 4th with an interception for the Slicers. The defense was able to come up big all night forcing 4 punts and 2 turnovers. Your Slicers will be in action next Thursday at home when they take on the Lake Central Indians @ 6pm.
