In their regular season finale, the LaPorte Slicers beat the Wheeler Bobcats 138-38. The Slicers won nearly every event against a young and undermanned Wheeler. LaPorte opened the meet with a win in the 200 Medley Relay behind: Jakob Schroeder (backstroke), Abbas Hakim (breaststroke), Otto Wildhart (butterfly), & Chaise Adrian (freestyle). Chaise Adrian won the 200 Freestyle, & 500 Freestyle. Otto Wildhart won the 200 Individual Medley, out-touching teammate Abbas Hakim by one hundredth of a second. Hats off to Wheeler freestyler, Tommy Emery, who won the 50, and 100 Freestyles. Andrew Hayes won diving with a score of 200:55. Hayes has added 3 new dives to his repertoire, as he prepares for Sectionals. Gavin Crail won the 100 Butterfly, with a shoutout to teammate Allen Fuller, who broke the minute barrier in his final regular high school meet. LaPorte won the 200 Freestyle Relay with: Crail, Wildhart, Roman Garay, and Fuller. Crail also won the 100 Backstroke. Abbas Hakim won the 100 Breaststroke. And LaPorte finished the meet with a win in the 400 Freestyle, behind: Adrian, Schroeder, Crail, and Hakim. The boys had their last day in the weight room this morning, as they begin winding down from big distance practices, and begin the taper process heading into Sectionals. The Slicers finished their regular season with an outstanding record of 16-3. It's time to focus and lock in for Sectionals. Sectionals will be at Valpo on February 15th and 17th. It's been a great season for swimmers, divers, and coaches. But, it's not over yet! Always proud. Go Slicers! Coach Brahim
