The LaPorte Slicers hosted New Prairie tonight in a joint senior night honoring Slicer Senior Ava Penziol and Seniors Anna Jasnieski and Silvi Small from New Prairie. Although it wasn't our best meet it was a very memorable and emotional night with a packed crowd, family and friends traveling in from out of state, and a lot of love and support. The Slicers lost to New Prairie High School (89.725 - 92.325). Senior Ava Penziol was 4th on vault (7.8), 2nd on bars with a season high score of 8.075, tied fo 2nd on beam (7.975), 3rd on floor (7.95) and all-around with a 31.8. Genny Witulski also placed 8th on bars (4.55), 6th on beam (6.35) and all-around (25.15) and 8th on floor (6.575). Tonight was a great night filled with love and support and we are so very prouf of Ava Penziol and all that she has brought to the LaPorte High School program. The Slicers travel to Merrillville on Saturday, Jan. 27 for the Pirate Invite and to make up their dual meet that was cancelled last week due to the blizzard.
