Slicer Gymnasts Fall to Crown Point; Improved Team and Invidivual Scores

The Slicer Gymnastics team traveled to Crown Point for their first away meet of the season and although they improved their individual and team score they lost. Crown Point's team score was 111.5 and LaPorte improved to 91.625. Freshman Evie Travis led the Slicers placing 5th overall with a 32.8. Travis placed 8th on vault (8.225), 6th on bars 7.925), 7th on beam (8.35), and 7th on floor (8.3). Senior Ava Penziol placed 6th overall posting a 32.1. Penziol placed 6th on vault (8.5), 8th on bars (7.4), and 8th on beam (8.175) and floor (8.025). Freshman Genny Witulski placed 7th overall with a 26.375. She placed 9th on vault (7.7), beam (7.65) and floor (6.425), and 10th on bars (4.6). Sophomore Jules Schadt placed 8th overall with a 22.1, was 9th on bars (4.95) and 10th on bars (4.95), beam (4.55) and floor (5.125). This was the first meet Jules competed floor. The Slicers travel to the Elkhart East-West Invitational on Saturday, January 13.
