The Slicers traveled to Portage this evening and defeated the Indians 128-50. Once again, LaPorte won nearly every event, and finished 1-2 in most events. The Slicers have been getting better every week, but we still have some kinks to iron out. This young team trains hard every day, and by Sectionals, they should be rolling. The Slicers opened the meet with a win in the 200 Medley Relay behind Jake Schroeder (backstroke), Abbas Hakim (breaststroke), Otto Wildhart (butterfly), and Chaise Adrian (freestyle). Adrian, Roman Garay and Chase Childers then went 1,2,3 in the 200 Freestyle. Gavin Crail and Hakim went 1,2 in the 200 Individual Medley. Andrew Hayes and Landon Corbett went 1,2 in Diving with Corbett setting a PR of 160.10. Wildhart and Schroeder went 1,2 in the 100 Butterfly. Garay won the 100 Freestyle, with Allen Fuller getting a lifetime PR for third. Adrian won the 500 Freestyle. Then, LaPorte's sprinters stepped up and won the 200 Freestyle Relay behind Fuller, Crail, Wildhart, and Garay. Schroeder easily won the 100 Backstroke. Crail and Hakim went 1,2 in the 100 Breaststroke. Finally, the 400 Freestyle Relay team of Adrian, Crail, Schroeder, and Hakim dominated with a 27 second victory. The boys are tired, but rest assured, they will be at morning weights bright and early tomorrow. Always proud. Go Slicers! Coach Brahim
