The LaPorte Slicers Boys Swimming and Diving Team traveled to Culver Military Academy tonight and won 124-58. The Slicers won every Individual Event, Relay and Diving. The boys were able to show their depth by swimming some off events and still coming out on top. The arrival of Freshmen Gavin Crail and Jakob Schroeder has added more firepower to an already fast team. The meet opened with LaPorte winning the 200 Medley Relay behind: Jake Schroeder (backstroke), Abbas Hakim (breaststroke), Otto Wildhart (butterfly), and Chaise Adrian (freestyle). Next, Roman Garay won the 200 Freestyle, followed by Crail winning the 200 Individual Medley. The Slicers went 1-2 in both events. Jake Schroeder won the 50 Freestyle with Hakim and Allen Fuller tying for second. Schroeder also won the 100 Backstroke with diver/swimmer Andrew Hayes finishing second. Hayes won diving with one of his best performances ever. The Slicer AND Culver crowd were cheering on his dives as they became increasingly more complex. Wildhart won the 100 Butterfly with his second fastest time of the season. Shoutout to Karter Griffin, who finished 3rd with a lifetime PR. Garay then won the 100 Freestyle, with Fuller finishing a close second. Chaise Adrian cruised to victory in the 500 Freestyle, with Crail swimming well to second. LaPorte then won the 200 Freestyle Relay behind; Garay, Wildhart, Fuller and Crail. Hakim won the 100 Breaststroke with his best time so far this season. Adrian swam a fast to second place. Finally, LaPorte won the 400 Freestyle Relay by 14 seconds behind: Crail, Adrian, Schroeder, and Hakim. The Slicers record climbs to 3-1. They host Lowell and Calumet this Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Always proud. Go Slicers! Coach Brahim
