LaPorte traveled to Knox today, and came out on top with a score of 114-56. LaPorte won all 8 Individual Events, Diving, and all 3 Relays. The meet started off with Diving, and Senior Chloe Chezem won with 143.65 points. Chezem continues to build her confidence on the board. Individual Event Winners for LaPorte were: Lily Siford: 50 & 100 Freestyle Noor Hakim: 100 Butterfly & 100 Breaststroke Cali Hatala: 200 Individual Medley & 500 Freestyle Abigail Burger: 200 Freestyle & 100 Backstroke In relays, the 200 Medley Relay team of Burger (back), Hatala (breast), Hakim (Fly), and Siford (Free), won handily. The same quartet of girls also won the 400 Freestyle Relay. Katelyn Peterson, Sofia LaRocco, Paige Doeppke, and Liz Luna won the 200 Freestyle Relay by nearly 43 seconds. Shoutouts to Madi Griffin, Emma Boone, and Carmen Equizabal, who all had solid races. Although swimming and diving are mostly comprised of individual events, it's a team sport. The support and camaraderie shown by this young team is impressive. The coaches can't wait to see how much this team will improve between now and sectionals. The Slicers are now 2-0. They head to Valpo next Tuesday. Always proud. Go Slicers! Coach Brahim
